Diana Retires

On May 3rd, 2024, Diana completed her final shift at the UPMC Station Medical Center located in Altoona, PA, concluding her impressive 44-year vocation in Radiology. This marked the beginning of her new chapter – Retirement!

Diana DeLozier

Diana, originally hailing from Cresson, PA, was born in the year 1960 and raised as the youngest among her siblings in the DeLozier family house of Leo and MaryClare. Growing up alongside her older brothers, James Rodney, Brian, and Dave, she graduated highschool in 1978 from Penn Cambria and initially didn’t envision pursuing a higher education. Witnessing her eldest brother’s experience and understanding the financial constraints her family faced, pursuing further studies seemed out of reach. Nonetheless, following encouragement from her high school guidance counselor, Diana stumbled upon the Altoona School of Radiology and Technology.

Upon graduating in 1980 from the Altoona School of Radiology and Technology, she attained her R.T. (R)(M) ARRT certification. With these credentials, she secured her first position at the Center Community Hospital in State College, gaining valuable on-the-job experience.

Over time, Diana continued to work while also starting a family of her own. In 1988, she welcomed her first child, Miranda, and shortly thereafter in 1989, she relocated to Allegheny County and found employment at Arthritis and Rheumatic Disease Associates in Monroeville. In 1991, she had her second child, Ryan, followed by Adam in 1995, all while maintaining her career in healthcare. After eight years in Allegheny, she returned to Cambria County, where she took on two part-time roles at Altoona Hospital and Healthsouth Rehabilitation.

In the summer of 2007, Diana’s eldest child graduated from high school and left home. By 2013, her youngest child had also moved out, but these milestones didn’t hinder her. She then held a single job at the Station Medical Center. She remained dedicated until Wednesday, March 6, 2024, when she submitted her retirement notice. From that point on, she pursued her goals without hesitation and successfully reached the finish line on May 3.
